After a year of delay and lots of kind (yet physical) pushing from Lacey, I have finally finished my originally promised painting for my mother. Some suggested titles that Lacey and I came up with over lunch were:
- No Country for Old Barns
- Come Here Red Barn, Barn, Can You Get It Up?
- Concrete Barn Where Dreams are Made Of
- Don’t Overstate your Barn

Beautiful Stairs Need Not Apply.
I found this nestled among the paragraphs of an article on ‘Building Manageable Growth on the Web’. A direct visualization of the path forgotten in a rush to grow a visual empire, as Noupe loosely puts it. It’s a good read, but it pales in comparison to these beautifully aged stairs with that sexy green moss.

Waller Creek Update.
New poles are up, half the trees are gone, and orange markers line the road. It’s tunnel digging season! Lacey says I care more about trees than humans. I told her I’m quite fond of humans who stand still and say nothing all day.
To non-Austin followers. Waller Creek runs the length of downtown Austin and is primarily used for selling crack. Once, decades ago, there was an attempt to make it a fancy walk way. The city has decided to go for round two by installing a flood tunnel and a fancy bike path along the center.
