After a year of delay and lots of kind (yet physical) pushing from Lacey, I have finally finished my originally promised painting for my mother. Some suggested titles that Lacey and I came up with over lunch were:
- No Country for Old Barns
- Come Here Red Barn, Barn, Can You Get It Up?
- Concrete Barn Where Dreams are Made Of
- Don’t Overstate your Barn
3 x 4 Feet. Acrylic on Canvas.
Pressure Sensitive iPad Drawing.
Pogo Connect goes on pre-order next month and it might finally bring a decent pressure-sensitive solution to the iPad. I’ve been tracking this for months and been yearning for a high quality art tablet for over a decade. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited. Hopefully Sketchbook Pro and Paper will support it by release.
Grande Full-Fat Espresso Con Panna
Rachel says: I just love her curves. I feel like if she wasn’t a coffee her name would be Carmen; a name which I think she probably hates. She’s obviously put off by the bird, which makes me feel like she’s probably not a fan of things that are messy, or fluttery. I think she likes things to be “just so”. She’s probably on her way to something important, like a meeting or a class. She might be a graduate student, in something creative like music. I think she also has a big laugh, and loves really rich desserts, like Tiramisu, and anything with dark chocolate on it.

Rachel says: I feel like her name is definitely Chloé. She’s either in Paris, or she wishes she could be. If it’s not Paris, then it’s probably New York. She’s walking her dog down a main street, rather than in a park, because she wants to window shop. Once she gets home she’s probably just going to sit in front of her Macbook Air and shop on the internet for a few hours, before going out for drinks with her friends. This is not to say she’s snotty, because I don’t think she is; she just has a comfortable lifestyle. I feel like her apartment is decorated entirely in pink. She really loves art history, but I’m not sure if it’s because she has a genuine interest in it, or if she just enjoys buying expensive coffee table books with beautiful prints.

Never Forget The Magic of Trees.
Inhabitat has a brief post showcasing a comic by Stuart McMillen which documents the science and discovery behind how trees are formed from little more than the particles of nitrogen and carbon in the air.
